Project 35; Colour relationships

Complementary Colours; Violet and yellow.
Above the example on the left is closer to the proportions as described of 1:3. The second image has the proportions reversed. I find the first more pleasing, perhaps because in the second I look first at the yellow flowers and almost miss the violet ones altogether.

Complementary colours; Red and green.
Here the proportions are roughly 1:1.

Above we have a contrasting combination of red and blue with more blue than red I think even though the pink is actually light red.

Again a contrasting combination. Blue goes well with yellow I think in this case anyway. Is it that the proportions are right here?, the contrast between a dark blue and a bright yellow really works well together. Also its a cool warm contrast.

This time a warm contrasting pair of yellow and red. The green here is a yellowish green and the black background works very well to make the two main colours stand out.

A multi-colour combination. There are many colours here. The nuetral grey of the wall at the bottom and the white of the sky sort of frames the others. Below the white of the cloud we have blue sky and then many colours in the houses. Yellows and oranges on the right, then red then yellow again. Also the houses themselves are multi coloured. the shutters on the orange house are blue making this a complimentary combination. The house on the bottom right is yellow and the shutters are green making this a contrasting combination.

A contrasting combination of orange and green. There are also neutral colours here, white and black. Orange is the stronger colour here but the proportion of green to orange is about right I think, about 2:1?
