Project 37; Filters with black and white film.

I do not own a film camera so I have done this project applying the black and white adjustment in photoshop CS3 and selecting the various filters available from the drop down menu in it.

Firstly here is the original colour image shot in RAW then transfered into black and white.

Here is the straight conversion no filter applied. This is really the control and all others need to be compared to this to see the changes.

No filter. On the right Yellow filter applied. Note the yellow pepper on the right is lighter. Also see the change in the green pepper caused because green is a combination of primaries yellow and blue.

No filter and on the right we have with the red filter, the change in the red pepper is most obvious, it is lighter. The green is still lighter than the control but this could be changed using the green colour slider.

Again, no filter applied on the left and a blue filter applied on the right.

Although the results are not exactly the same it might take a little tweaking to achieve the same as the examples given. Still the principle can be seen.
